Popsie - my BIG 2yr cat - 36" - 15#

Posted by Picasa This is Popsie, our 2 yr old, female, spayed, cat. She was 15# on April 1st, 2006 and we just measured her from nose to tip of tail and from toes to toes stretched out and both ways she was 36". We are just average people with a pet cat and not up on the ways of getting such vitals on a cat. The vet said she is an American Domestic longhair Cat. She is now, at 2 yrs old as big or bigger than her father was when we first saw him and her head is almost as massive as his was. He was HUGE! Popsie, though, is a faker, I think most of hers if fur! This photo was taken about 6 mos or so ago, around Christmas of '05.

Thanks, she can move, she really can, honest. One day a guest came in and she was in a statuesque pose, standing, staring forward. The guest stood watching her, thinking she was a stuffed animal, plea-ing with me to make her move. I called Popsie's name over and over and as long as the guest was there she would not blink or move or anything. Then, as the guest was leaving Popsie politely walked over to her food bowl, like "I thought you'd NEVER leave !!" hahaha! The guest just about jumped out of her skin because the big stuffed animal moved!

POPSIE LIVED TO BE 5 YRS OLD - We still miss her antics and companionship. She had cancer that started with 2 lumps at birth (as did her outside brother who only lived 3 yrs - not ours - feral). I had Popsie's 1 lump removed when she was 3 yrs old - supposedly benign. The vet said not to worry about the other lump. We enjoyed her for 2 more yrs. She was like our child. Sigh !! Not able to have another pet - many reasons. Life goes on - PTL !!

I miss our "POPSIE" so very much. My health has been such and finances such that it would not be fair to "hold claims" to any pet and then suffer the agony when we part. Sometimes in life, you have a single event, a single friend, a single pet, a single spouse, whatever - and it is so strikingly unique that to share your heart with others could never compare to that "ONE". Be blessed our friends.
